                           GAME BIRD HUNTING SEASON OPENS SATURDAY, AUGUST, 15 2020

    The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) is announcing the dates for the game bird shooting season. The 2020 Game Bird Shooting Season is declared to open on Saturday, August 15, 2020 and close on Sunday, September 20, 2020.

    Over 700 primary school teachers educated  through the NEPA Junior Environment Programme

    The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) and Ministry of Education Youth and Information (MOEYI) collaborated to provide environmental education to over 700 primary school teachers at the grade four to six level, through the NEPA Junior Environment Programme (NJEP).

    Influx of Sargassum on Jamaican Coastline

    The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) is advising the public to expect an increase of mats of the brown seaweed known as Sargassum along several beaches across the island in the upcoming months.

    Jamaica, like several Caribbean Islands, have been impacted by the seaweed which has been spotted offshore Jamaica. Some beaches across the island, particularly in Portland, St. Thomas, St Catherine and Westmorland are already being heavily impacted.
