    The NEPA yesterday responded to a reported pollution incident along the Bog Walk Gorge, spanning Flat Bridge to Zepherton. A technical team was immediately mobilized and responded to investigate the report.

    12 St James businesses charged for plastic ban breaches

    Twelve businesses in St James have been charged by the Natural Resources Conservation Authority/National Environment and Planning Agency (NRCA/NEPA) for breaches under the the Natural Resources Conservation Authority (Plastic Packaging Materials Prohibition) Order, 2018. The matters will be heard in the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday, 5 October 2022.

    NEPA Investigates Fish Kill in Portmore, St Catherine

    Yesterday at approximately 12PM the National Environment and Planning Agency received reports of a fish kill in the Bridgeport area of Portmore, St Catherine.

    The Agency’s pollution response team was immediately deployed and conducted a joint investigation with the National Fisheries Authority.

    NEPA advises the public on possible environmental impacts associated with Tropical Depression Nine

    The National Environment and Planning Agency is advising the public to take precautions as the nation gears up for Tropical Depression 9 which is expected to commence impacting Jamaica and its territorial waters by Saturday afternoon.
