    NEPA advises the public on possible environmental impacts associated with Tropical Depression Nine

    The National Environment and Planning Agency is advising the public to take precautions as the nation gears up for Tropical Depression 9 which is expected to commence impacting Jamaica and its territorial waters by Saturday afternoon.

    MEN FINED FOR HUNTING IN GAME RESERVE

    Ron Williams and Andrew Taylor were charged and prosecuted by the Natural Resources Conservation Authority (NRCA)/National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) for breaches of the Wild Life Protection Act, 1945. The individuals charged pleaded guilty to the when they appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday, 27 September 2022.

    The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) has concluded its investigations of the recent fish kill which occurred at the Dawkins Pond in St Catherine, on 21 September 2022. The Agency has surmised that the die-off of these fish was due to low oxygen levels in the water.

    This morning at approximately 8am, the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) received a video report that was being widely circulated of an alleged pollution incident along the Rio Cobre River at Zephyrton, close to the Linstead area in St Catherine.

    GAME BIRD HUNTING SEASON OPENS SATURDAY 20 AUGUST 2022

    The 2022 game bird hunting season is declared to open on Saturday 20 August 2022. The season closes on Sunday 25 September 2022.
