MEDIA RELEASE -  September 11, 2009

The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) will this month continue its series of community consultations in St. Catherine to sensitise residents about the draft Development Order for the parish. This series of consultations is expected to run from 13 to 20 September, 2009.

A Development Order outlines standards and guidelines on how lands may be used and the type of activities that are allowed on these lands. The Development Order addresses the following issues; roads, buildings and other structures, community planning, amenities, public spaces, transportation, communications amongst others. It is a legal document governing development in the area it covers.

The public and media are invited to participate in the consultations at our upcoming meetings in Point Hill, Spanish Town, Linstead and Old Harbour.
