The National Environment and
Planning Agency (NEPA) wishes to inform the public that the 2008
Game Bird Shooting Season will be closed as of 9:00 a.m. on Sunday,
September 28, 2008. The season is regulated by NEPA under the Wild
Life Protected Act. Anyone caught hunting during the closed season
will be prosecuted and can face a maximum fine of up to $100,000 or
twelve (12) in months prison.
All hunters who were issued a
Hunter’s Licence, whether or not they participated in the sport this
year, should submit their Hunter’s Report Form to NEPA by December
31, 2008. Submissions made after this deadline will attract a late
processing fee of $5000. Any hunter who fails to return their
Hunter’s Bird Shooting Report Form will not be granted a Hunter’s
Licence, until the requisite late processing fee is paid and the
outstanding Form has been submitted to NEPA.
Persons may contact NEPA at
754-7540 or 1 888 991 5005 for further information on the 2008 Bird
Shooting Season or to report any illegal hunting activity.
