PRESS RELEASE -  September 25, 2008

The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) wishes to inform the public that the 2008 Game Bird Shooting Season will be closed as of 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2008. The season is regulated by NEPA under the Wild Life Protected Act. Anyone caught hunting during the closed season will be prosecuted and can face a maximum fine of up to $100,000 or twelve (12) in months prison.

 All hunters who were issued a Hunter’s Licence, whether or not they participated in the sport this year, should submit their Hunter’s Report Form to NEPA by December 31, 2008. Submissions made after this deadline will attract a late processing fee of $5000. Any hunter who fails to return their Hunter’s Bird Shooting Report Form will not be granted a Hunter’s Licence, until the requisite late processing fee is paid and the outstanding Form has been submitted to NEPA.
